Overview

Since its release on 30 November 2022, Chat Generative Pre-training Transformer (ChatGPT) has gained over 100 million users (as of July 2023), surpassing Google's record for the fastest-growing user base. This conversational large-language model has impressed the world with its powerful capabilities in performing sophisticated tasks. Educators should therefore ask: How can we leverage generative AI (GenAI) to facilitate better teaching and learning?

In this seminar, the speaker will share a three-step prompt engineering process called ‘Write the prompts, Curate the output, and Verify the output’ (WCV) to design scenario-based learning tasks. The speaker will also present evidence of the effectiveness of WCV in terms of the quality of scenario-based learning tasks and students' reported intrinsic motivation towards GenAI-supported tasks.
